Overview
As a participant you can be part of a unique international educational and cultural exchange experience. A short-term or long-term exchange program at The LIFE in Atlanta, Georgia will give you the opportunity to experience everyday American life and get to know the people and country from the inside.
As a cultural ambassador you will receive:
- an accredited and college-competitive curriculum that will prepare you for a successful school year
- individualized coaching and tutoring, so that you can get the support you need to understand the material, develop your skills, and prepare you to apply to U.S. colleges and universities
- a balanced schedule including 2 hours of live instruction and peer collaboration, and 2-3 hours of daily independent work and projects

Eligibility Criteria:
Student:
- speaks English fluently.
- has a U.S. passport.
- is at least 16 years old.
- has a strong academic background.
- provides their own room and board or housing (i.e., their own family, a local host family, or friends).
Tuition
- $12,000 per year
Virtual Coaching Prior to Semester in Atlanta
- $4,000 per semester

Instructors

Khabral Muhammad
Khabral joins Atlanta’s education community by way of Oakland, CA. As an experienced educator, he brings a wide variety of skills in tech, the arts, the sciences and math, as well as a deep understanding of how important it is to instill a love of learning in children. He credits his mother, a recently retired teacher in Auburn, AL, with giving him a strong and varied academic foundation, which helped him fall in love with learning too.
He has a B.A. degree in English from California State University Hayward, minoring in International Writ and Psychology, and to this day remains passionate about nation-building, community organizing and education.

Daly Jolly
Daly discovered a love for mathematics while studying engineering in his early college years. It was then that he began tutoring whenever the opportunity arose. After college, Daly worked for several years in construction, which provided him first hand experience with the practical applications of math. He possesses an enthusiasm for solving difficult problems and a love of teaching. Daly is a graduate of the Mississippi University for Women, in Columbus, MS.

Mikala Streeter
Over the last 10 years, Mikala has taught middle and high school computer science and math courses, designed curriculum, and coached teachers around the world.
Prior to founding The LIFE School, she co-founded an educational technology company focused on college access. She is also a 4.0 Schools Fellow and a SXSWedu conference speaker.
She has a B.S. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a M.A. in Education (Learning, Design, and Technology) from Stanford University.
